Biography and other

Chris Wolstenholme is the bass player, and occasional singer/guitar player in Muse. He has also played keyboards for the band at their live shows on occasion. He's the quiet, rational person... also described as "the gentle giant" (relative to the other two members) of the band.
He grew up in Rotherham before moving to Teignmouth, Devon, with his parents and his sister.

"When I was a child, I didn't know much about music: music for me was what I heard from the radio or what I watched on TV. One day, a guy at school asked me if I wanted to take guitar lessons, and I said yes".

There were many bands in the Teignmouth community. Chris played in one, and his schoolmates Matthew Bellamy and Dominic Howard played in an other. After two years of drop outs in Matt's and Dom's band, Chris who played drums in his band transferred to their band. Chris was used to play drums and had never played a bass in his life, but with a 'great spirit of sacrifice' started playing bass guitar.

"Matt and Dom were looking for a bass palyer, they asked me if I was interested, and I started playing with'em".

Chris currently lives in Teignmouth with his wife Kelly. He's got three children, whose names are Alfie, Ava Joe and Frankie. When he comes back home, he loves playing football, go to the park and spending time with his family.
